Gotta love Jew-y baseball!

Last night I went to a Phillies game with my stepdad at the brand new, gorgeous Citizens Bank Park:

Pretty The big screen

It was really fun, despite being hot and sticky as baseball games always are. :sweatdrop: I cheated on my diet (I mean it’s a ball game, come on) and ate: a hotdog, a soft pretzel, and cotton candy. It was delicious.

The Phillies creamed the Diamondbacks 12-3, which was pretty sweet, but the best part of the night was that it happened to be Jewish Heritage Night, which made for much more hilarity than I had expected. Below, the Philly Phanatic (and his wife) doing the Horah:

Obvs I’m not particularly interested in sports (understatement!) but I do love the occasional Phillies game.

And the saga of my healthiness attempt continues…

I’ve been working out every single day (took a break today, though, to give my muscles a rest), which has involved watching one episode of Buffy season 7 while on the bike (~41 min) and then a ton of ab-work. BECAUSE (dun dun dun) when I get a flat stomach, I’m going to get my belly button pierced!! Woo. Promise it won’t be trashy.

Also I’ve been eating well. Yesterday I had the best black bean salad ever, from a Brazilian stand at the local farmer’s market. It was just corn, black beans (the best ever), red peppers, onions, and lime vinaigrette:

YUM

Just thinking about it makes me want to go back and get more… :blah:

Haha, wow! Finally, someone made sports interesting to me! I am not particularly fond of sports and I find them miserable to follow…but…I’m becoming more open-minded about all of it and going to a game every once and awhile.

And not to be totally random– but I have been craving soft pretzels very badly. I even bring it up in the middle of conversation…it’s bad.

They did the Horah?! How cool! You picked a good night to go to the ball game, eh?!

I’ve always wanted to go to a baseball game. Well, something other than the kids playing around here. lol.
Glad to hear you are keeping up with your healthyness! That bean stuff does sound really good. I wish our FM had something like that. lol. I’d make more of an effort to go. haha.

yes, i’d have to say black beans are THE best. Being half Hispanic, I suppose I have to say that lol. Anywho, I wish I had the will power to go on a diet. I want to, I just don’t have the equipment and my family eats so unhealthy so I tend to.

    Good luck with your diet:)

It’s ok to cheat with a diet from time to time. I mean, what would life be without the occasional forbidden food? :) Just as long as you don’t eat stuff like cottoncandy every day it’s alright! :D

Haha I don’t know much about jewish traditons or holidays but that sure looks fun! XD

Mmmmmm black beans, I sooo want to make that now!!

Nothing wrong with momentarily break the diet, everything in moderation and you are fine.

How is it possible that we went to baseball games on the same night–but yours was the one with the horah? :whoa:

I gave up on working out, my son/housework/working kinda make up for that anyway. Good on you for being healthy! That looks delicious.

I think I might get my navel pierced too, my tummy isn’t flat flat but I think I’m just gonna go for it!

Say Something!
