Okay I owe everyone an explanation as to where I’ve been for the past few months… So here we go!
First off, I’ve been playing a shit ton of video games. Way more than ever before in my life–but way more productively, if you catch my drift. I’ve actually beaten a bunch of games, which is not something I used to do often. 
I’ve compiled an ongoing list of games I’ve been playing/beating, so check it out if you care about games!
In the near future, I’d like to do a series of short reviews of games I’ve beaten… Or maybe put them in a separate section on the site? Now that I’m beating so many. The inspiration for this particular style of reviewing comes from Beaten Video Games, which I heard about on Mobcast, to give credit where credit is due. So yeah, look forward to that!
I’ve also been (GASP!) doing my reading for my classes. But not because I’ve suddenly become a good student–because the books are really good. See my current reading list for details.
I started and left my job at Book Culture for various reasons… perhaps to be discussed in a later post? Perhaps not? A lot of it had to do with time, which I’m now dedicating to an extra weekly shift at Housing Works Bookstore Cafe.
I’ve been doing a lot of illustration, for the Spec and whatnot, and I also started a comic with my best friend/roommate about our living situation, which can be found here: Club EC!

If you couldn’t tell, Jacob (my roomie) and I are the characters. 
And perhaps in the biggest news, which I will elaborate on soon, is that I got a freelance job! And not just any job–I’m doing some art for a small independent video game company!!! I can’t talk about the specifics of what I’m working on, but the studio is called Neuronic Games, so check them out.
In another post, I’ll show off some of the art that helped get me the gig. 
But it’s at school, and right now I’m finishing up spring break, so yeah.

Congrats on…well, everything! Also, you and Jacob cook like me. Everyone at work always asks if they can taste some of my lunch and when they ask how I make things, I tend to answer “I don’t know. I just threw stuff in.” I figure, if you like this, this, and this…they’re bound to taste good together.

ZOMG, ISN’T PORTAL THE BEST THING EVER?! The new issue of Game Informer magazine has an article on Portal 2 and I cannot wait. A full-length Portal game will be AMAZING. Yay for MGS, Super Metroid, Chrono, and Final Fantasy too! You’ve been playing a lot of my favorite games, it seems.

Your gig sounds AWESOME. I’m jealous of its freelancey-ness, though I know nothing about video games and never heard of any of them on your beaten list. I’m still stuck on Nintendo 64. Mario Kart all the way, man.
